EXERCISE/FITNESS TIPS FOR TEENAGERS

Tips to help you exercise and do it safely

  • Know the “Why” : Help to motivate teens to exercise by looking at it as a better and comfortable way to feel better about themselves.

  • Set Goals: Set small goes and grow to attainable goals.  

  • Learn Muscle Balance: Exercise your upper and lower muscles and work on all body parts

  • Don’t go to something that is too heavy

  • Incorporate Both Sport-Specific and General Exercises: Sports specific training is used for the sport that is played, so make sure your teen trains for his or her sport.

  • Focus on Breathing: Always exhale on the exertion part of an exercise. Reversing breath may lead to nausea or fainting.
